Aeration
Please note that aeration increases as follows: 14#, 3T and 3BN, so the BN filter has the highest aeration.
The BN filter is especially suited for bags which are sealed prior to sterilisation in an autoclave, because this kind of filter gives very good aeration. Sudden pressure drops do not result in exploded bags when using the BN type of filter. However, the pore size is rather big, it is advisable to use BN filter only in clean spawn run rooms, as spores may enter through the filter to some extent.
